National Comedy Center

The Comedy Center features interactive experiences and comedy memorabilia. Before entering the exhibits each visitor is given a wristband to scan which is supposed to tailor the experiences to that individual's taste.Visitors can become Foley artists, act out TV and movies scenes, learn how to draw cartoons, or try to make another person laugh at the Laugh Battle experience. There are many exhibits about different comedians and numerous videos to watch. The Blue Room which features uncensored comedy is located down a level so nobody accidentally stumbles on it. Despite all of the warning signs we did not find it shocking. Instead the exhibits cover the reason comedians like George Carlin and Lenny Bruce chose that type of comedy.
Overall the museum was entertaining but we weren't impressed with the personalized wristbands. They didn't do much at most of the exhibits. Ticket prices are high. The Comedy Center and the Lucille Ball- Desi Arnaz Center are partner museums operated by the same non-profit so there's a substantial discount if buying a dual admission. We used our NARM pass and didn't have to pay for either museum..

The museum is accessible however the Laugh Battle which uses face recognition does not work for visitors in wheelchairs who may be sitting too low. Plus the jokes are stupid. :D I think the Green Screen Experience may have the same low seating problem. The tour ends at the gift shop which does not have a ramp at the street exit. The museum staff must open a locked door to access the ramp.

The museum website parking information page lists four parking lots on 2nd Street. None are suitable for RVs. There's a long indented parking area with several spaces where RVs will fit across from the museum on 2nd Street.  Museum  42.09483, -79.24513
