International UFO Museum

We visited this museum years ago when it was in a crowded storefront with exhibits that were mainly newspaper clipping of the mysterious events that occurred  in July 1947 near Roswell, New Mexico. The new location in a renovated movie theater is so much better. I was happy to see that the wonderfully funky, full-size, alien creations made the move and are ready for photo ops. 

There's still a lot of reading with eyewitness accounts from local residents and military and medical personnel. This is just a small part of the museum. Other exhibits cover movies about alien invasions; photographs and models of ancient carving and pictographs featuring spacemen; and tales of close encounters of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd kind. A small room features a video made from the viewpoint of the aliens traveling toward earth and encountering a storm that caused their ship to crash. There's also a large research library and a gift shop. 

 

The museum is accessible but the pavement at the entrance is sloped and the doors open outward making entering a bit difficult. We didn't visit the library.  

RVs will fit in the lot if parked through the spaces. Street parking is also available.  Museum  33.39331, -104.52286
