Huron Parks Trails

We started our walk at Ravine Park, a small park with a lake for fishing, swimming, tubing, and non-power boating. The lake was developed by the WPA. Many small communities benefited and are still benefiting from work done through the agencies established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1930s and 1940s. :-) The trail which circles the lake and detours out to a small island is about a mile in total length.

An offshoot trail at the south end of the lake crosses Waibel Drive and Jersey Ave and connects to the trail in Memorial Park. This trail is along the top of the dike with views of the river on one side and the park on the other. It drops down to loop back and travel through the park which has playgrounds, picnic tables, a frisbee course, a small golf course, and ball fields. The total distance of both trails is a little over two miles.

The trails are paved, mostly flat, and accessible.

We parked in the lot on Easy Street, on the west side of the lake. Although RVs will easily fit in this lot, it is small so visitors with large RVs may wish to park on the other side of the lake or along the road in Memorial Park. Trails 44.36843, -98.20154
