Lazy days, SNOW..getting ready to start the makeover of my kitchen
Friday started out nice and quiet but ended up very windy. Oh well, that's the way it goes out here! WE were home all day with the exception of a short drive to Ft. Churchill State Park to get Ken's Nevada State Parks pass for another year. With this pass we can stay in any Nevada State Park for free. He pays $30.00 a year for this, so worth it! The rest of the day just puttered around. I am looking forward to getting my dining chairs next week then we'll be heading for Lowe's to get some color matching for paint. I'm hoping to get started soon on painting the kitchen. Some pretty mountain caps.. |

I made up a dinner plate for Karen, ran it over to her in the evening. We had a nice chat and decided to hit up an antique store about 20 min or so from here Saturday morning.
Saturday morning we woke up to SNOW! Not a lot just enough to make it pretty. Karen and I decided to put off the antique store for another day, really no reason to go out if you don't have to. After breakfast just kind of did some cleaning, laundry etc.
A short video of snow...
1300 we had a light lunch of celery, cheese, crackers etc. Then the rest of the day we spent like couch potatoes! Nice once in awhile, but definitely not always! The day stayed cold and dreary and we were nice and toasty with a fire going in the wood stove. Watched a few movies and then eventually a turkey dinner once again.
Today it's Sunday still cold and dreary. Both of us said we're ready for another road trip, but not to be with Ken's surgery coming up. We are heading for Washoe Lake State Park for a few days. Ken has his glaucoma appointment on Wednesday so we figure we'll go over on Tuesday and do some shopping in Reno then stay again Wednesday night, come home Thursday. So at least we'll get a little camping in for a few days. :) Better than nothing!

Someone we know and love sent this collage this morning of their views in Arizona...gorgeous! Thanks, DEB!
Our youngest son and his group Sacramento Beer Enthusiasts did a chili cook off fundraiser for Paradise Oaks Youth Services on Saturday in Sacramento. A great group of people raising money to help kids :) A great brewery, Tilted Mash hosted the event.
