Maine - Merchants Row Islands

The Merchant Islands lie east of Penobscot Bay, west of Mount Desert Island and Blue Hill Bay, north of Isle au Haut, and South of Stonington on Deer Isle.  There are many islands scattered in this area, many more than depicted on this simple chart.  Three different thorofares are charted through these Islands for cruisers passing east and west.

A few of the larger islands are inhabited by summer residents, but many of the islands are small, unihabited, and open for explorations.

Shores of small rocks or large smooth stone invite dinghy landings.

The entire crew enjoys the adventure of discovery in new places.

There was evidence that the crew were not the first explorers to land on these islands.
